18 Jan Bill 73 – Inclusionary Zoning Amendment
The Government of Ontario has been considering Bill 73, An Act to Amend the Development Charges Act, 1997 and the Planning Act. This is a great opportunity for our government to ensure that more affordable housing is being built in Ontario, and that developers are our partners in creating inclusive, vibrant communities. Unfortunately, while amendments had been proposed by MPP Cheri DiNovo to provide for inclusionary zoning to build affordable homes, they have so far been rejected by the government.
All IN wrote a letter to the Standing Committee on Social Policy’s members in support of including inclusionary zoning in the Bill.
